Comment on Why I do not want to travel to all countries world-wide, particularly not North Korea by Anne.

Besides being homesick even when I stay ‘somewhere in the NL’ (just not at home), watching a documentary on ‘dark tourism’ (Netflix) has also got me thinking twice before I would ever travel somewhere abroad.. ‘Unethical’ destinations (so to speak, I’m not completely up to date..) are interesting as far as experiencing what the locals must (have) endure(d) their entire lives/during the stay at certain countries and places – we should also think of how grateful we may feel not ever having to feel those emotions ourselves.. Still those places have it’s appeal and I get that – But would I want to encourage such ‘disaster-tourism’/ramp-toerisme? Most certainly not.. I wouldnt appreciate it if others would ‘enjoy’ a short stay in my everlasting hell if I were to live in one. Great piece of writing that has definately got me thinking – I hope I can muster enough courage to go visit some (in my eyes) ‘ethical’ places when the time is right!
