I just had a very bad experience in Naples. We are French and my wife speak a little of Italian. Of course street are smelling bad, it’s loud and polluted but it could have been ok with the historical legacy or the amazing food. But no, Naples people are just rude and unable to consider you with respect if you do not speak fluent Italian. Waiters will barely speak to you, they will push you to leave without any respect and make you pay extra amount of everything. This is very different compared to other cities. Naples is just the worst city to visit in Italy. Skip it if you can and just visit Pompei region.
